Invisible Children Resources

…don’t forget about us…

Invisible Children

One of the organizations that I support is Invisible Children because their work in the war-torn northern Uganda, I feel, is quite important and worth while. Of course there are many worthy organizations (World Vision is another that I recommend) that you could and should support, if this one isn’t for you, I hope you find one that does suit you. That being said, I think it would be well worth your time and money to help support Uganda’s Invisible Children. I have set up this page in hope of making it easy to support and help out, especially in the Pacific Northwest.

Important Links:

  • Invisible Children – The organization’s main web page. (Lots of information the check out!)
  • Uganda’s Invisible Children – My blog post on the subject.
  • Invisible Children FAQ – Important answers to questions about the mission.
  • The Invisible Children Movie – Information about the IC movie and its screenings.
  • Google Video: Invisible Children – The 55 minute video from Uganda. Watch it.
  • Wikipedia: Invisible Children – Information on the organization at Wikipedia.
  • Invisible Children: MySpace – Yep, even Invisible Children has a MySpace!
  • IC Pacific Northwest Road Crew @ MySpace – Bringing screenings to the Pacific Northwest!
  • Support for Invisible Children:

  • Monetary Donations to Invisible Children. If you want to know how your donations will be used, read this.
  • Invisible Children Bracelets – their bracelet campaign is another great way to get involved. Bracelets can be purchased here (2 of the eventual 8 are currently available).
  • Invisible Children Store – Buy various IC merchandise.
  • Spread the word!

  • Google Video: Invisible Children – Watch it and tell others about it!
  • IC Movie Screenings – check for a location near you and go to it! Bring others!
  • Pacific Northwest Road Crew – Talk to these guys if you want to set up a screening from California up through Washington and more. There are dates listed for the first few months of 2007, so see when they will be in your area!
  • If you can, go see a screening. Even better: set up a screening in your area! Make it happen!
  • News:

  • BBC News (Oct. 22, 2004) – Uganda’s invisible war
  • BBC News (Aug. 1, 2006) – Uganda LRA chief calls for truce
  • CNN (Aug. 1, 2006) – Ugandan rebel leader emerges from bush for peace talks
  • BBC (August 29, 2006) – Uganda begins ceasefire with LRA – All the more reason to support this cause and the people they send to help.

[...] This is a big topic to cover, I hope you will read the entire post as it is an important issue! Generally speaking, when I have money to tithe/donate I give to either World Vision, my church, or to UCF, I believe there is another to add to my list. Nathan Marion over at BlueTree is great at pointing out worthwhile casuses to support (and is working on one as well over at Bands Without Borders). One that he has mentioned a number of times is Invisible Children. [UPDATE: I have also created an Invisible Children Resources page that you should check out!] [...]

I am so happy that someone else realizes what is going on. I am a mother of three boys. It just breaks my heart. I know we have our issues here in the states but we should also be thankful. I personally have been supporting this cause for some time now. Thank you for making more people aware of this.
