Three Shows

It seems like my blog has turned into a music and daily life blog… that was not my intent, but I guess it is what it is for now. Sorry for those who have no interest at all!

There are three shows that I want to make you all aware of so you will attend. The first is Harry and the Potters. Yes, that’s right. They will be performing at the central branch of the Seattle Public Library at 7:00pm (Free!). Draco and the Malfoys will be
opening. These two brothers are high energy and a little crazy for Harry Potter and express that through song. :) It should be an interesting evening to say the least. You should come: be amazed, be confused, hear loud music, hear bizarre music, learn more about Harry Potter through song. Heh. UPDATE: Erin has provided a link to a Harry and the Potters video clip to give you an idea of what you are getting yourself into. :)

Secondly, I am hoping to make it up to Bellingham on Saturday night (depends on ferry schedules I think) for a Dana Little (of Late Tuesday) solo show. She will be opening for Leroy Bell at the Nightlight Lounge. Show starts at 9:00pm, cost is $8. I hope I can make it!

Thirdly is the Woodsong Arts and Music Festival (myspace) which will be happening on Orcas Island from July 20th through the 23rd. Sadly, I am not going to make it this year, but you definitely should as there are going to be many great bands and musicians there. These are the folks that I would LOVE to see (and I am sure that the others there would be lovely as well):

  • The Lonely Forest (myspace) (Thursday) - If you have read my blog before, you will know that these guys are one of my favorite groups (see my Lonely Forest page for more info).
  • The Pale Pacific (myspace) (Thursday) - A local Bellingham group that is also one of my favorites.
  • Peter LaGrand (Friday) - A fellow Regent College student. I have never actually heard him play, but I have heard good things!
  • Jason Harrod (myspace) (Friday) - A folk singer from North Carolina who has made a number of trips to Washington and I always enjoy hearing him. (See my Jason Harrod Live at Zoka’s page for some great live music.)
  • Late Tuesday (myspace) (Saturday) - This Bellingham trio has really grown on me and I have become quite a fan of their tunes… plus I still have a crush on Dana, juvenile, I know. ;) (see my Late Tuesday page for more info).
  • How can you not want to go to that festival? If you are at all able, DO GO. It will be a lot of fun and you will be introduced to a lot of good music. Stop by the Woodsong website for info and help getting there. You can also see my Woodsong 2005 post for a few pictures from last year.

    Check into some new music!
