First images back from the Phoenix Mars Lander!

Now that the University of Arizona has taken over the ground mission of the Phoenix Mars Lander, they have posted the first few images from the ground of the northern pole of Mars! You can read my live blogging of the Phoenix Mars Lander touching down for additional information and links.

    Oh we’ve been tracking!! Listened from the other room as Gordon watched the NASA coverage…my favourite was the countdown to touchdown and all the cheering in the background!

    I wonder why they called it Phoenix – they already used that name for a Lunar Mission. Should have named it after the Angel of the Garden, since we will likely engineer Mars to be the new Garden of Eden. Exciting, though.
